After realizing his gaffe, Holland cursed, thinking he might have just given away plot details. Joking about how much trouble he’d be in, the actor continued describing the rest of the sequence and why he was glad not to be in the scene, adding:

“I was like, ‘Let me to it. Let me do it.’ [But], when I saw him do it and get dunked in the lake, I’m so happy I let him do that one because that was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen. Can you imagine? Flying under a helicopter and being dunked in a lake? I don’t get paid enough for that s—.”

The first trailer revealed one scene with Spidey jumping over a helicopter, providing the perfect opportunity to show off those web wings; and another scene revealed our hero trying to keep a ferry from sinking. However, nothing in the trailer speaks to the scene Holland seems to think is a big spoiler.

Could the scene where Peter Parker looks injured on the beach be part of what he mentioned about being dangled from a helicopter? Given Vulture’s lethal talons, what if the scene Holland described is really meant to to be Peter Parker caught in Vulture’s grip with the helicopter being edited out in post-production?

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until next summer to find out just how harrowing it must have been to be dunked in a lake by a helicopter while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
