Star Wars: Rogue One U.K. Tickets On Sale Soon; New TV Spot Released

As the theatrical premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story draws ever closer, Lucasfilm’s marketing efforts have been ramped up to 11. Just in the past week, the studio released a featurette detailing the film’s status as a prequel to the original trilogy, and the Star Wars Galactic Atlas revealed more details about Rogue One‘s new characters and locations. Additionally, a new poster hinted at the spinoff’s World War II inspirations, which can also be felt in the Mon Calamari Admiral Raddus.

Since the calendar flipped to November, Lucasfilm’s top priority has been TV spots, as several advertisements have been unveiled to give small screen viewers a taste of what to expect in their next trip to the galaxy far, far away. Now, another one has made its way online (watch it above), which highlights the plight of the Rebellion as they learn of the Empire’s brand new mobile battle station.

Like most of the promos before it, this new spot essentially recycles footage that already appeared in the trailers, providing more looks at some of the battle sequences and space dogfights. There is a fresh shot of Jyn Erso’s defiant response to the question, “If the Empire has this kind of power, what chance do we have?” To Jyn, the Alliance has a choice. They can either stand down and allow the Imperials to rule the galaxy or fight back. The Death Star has some close personal ties to the Erso family, so Jyn is obviously very committed to clearing their name and making a real difference in the universe.

With Rogue One‘s release date a little under a month away (as of this writing), many fans have been wondering when they can purchase tickets. Even though Disney does not expect this installment to be as big a hit as Star Wars: The Force AwakensRogue One will definitely be one of the biggest hits of the holiday season, meaning there’s great interest in pre-orders. Rumor has it that tickets will go on sale by the end of the month, but those in the U.K. will be able to get them very soon. Per the Star Wars U.K. Twitter account, tickets will be available starting tomorrow, November 21, 2016. Moviegoers can click on the link in the tweet to receive a notification for when they can reserve their seat. There’s no official word yet on when North American audiences can pre-order.

Rogue One entered 2016 as one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and by now anticipation has reached a fever pitch. Between the gritty war drama tone, a collection of fresh faces destined to become fan-favorites, and the return of Darth Vader, there’s much for viewers to look forward to. Over the summer, some became concerned after the flurry of speculation regarding the project’s highly-publicized reshoots, but the strong marketing has dissipated any worries for now. Time will tell if Rogue One can rival some of its predecessors in terms of quality, but it seems to have everything people expect out of a Star Wars movie.
